New Cash Handling Training Requirement

UC Irvine Financial Services recently created a new mandatory Cash Handling Training for campus employees who handle cash or cash equivalents. Campus Online Deposit (COD) System users must complete this new training by June 30, 2025, to ensure that important university financial assets are protected, accurately and timely processed, and properly reported in accordance with UC Policy BUS-49: Cash and Cash Equivalents Received.
The training will cover:
- Roles and Responsibilities of Cash Handlers
- Basic Internal Control Principles
- Processing and Recording Deposits
- Petty Cash and Change Fund

The Cash Handling Training is available on the University of California Learning Center (UCLC) website. Search for “cash handling training” or use the link below to find and register for the eCourse.

You must register to start the training and pass the Knowledge Check 100% to get a completion certificate. Completion of this training is required before staff perform any cash handling responsibilities. Recertification is required after expiration of the last certification date.
